We tried out the Segway at the Changi Airport Terminal 3

I’ve always wanted to try out the Segway ever since I saw a Segway tour when I visited Chicago back in 2004 because it seemed fun and exciting.

Last year we were supposed to go on a Segway tour of Rome when we went there for our babymoon but decided against it because it might not have been safe for me since I was pregnant at the time and … well … we thought it was a little pricey for 75 Euros/head.

So a couple of weeks ago, we decided to pass by the Segway circuit at the Changi Terminal 3 when we dropped off a friend at the airport.  I can finally try a Segway and stop wondering what it’s like.

It was a short, ho-hum circuit that’s really just meant for people to get to try it.  3 rounds around the circuit cost S$10 but if you purchase anything from the airport worth S$20 then you can get 2 rounds for just S$5.

The verdict:  The Segway personal transporter indeed is fun to get around in.  I’m happy I finally tried it and looking back, if I could do it over again, I probably would have paid 75 euros for that Segway Rome tour.   But I still think it’s expensive.

Now, you can also try the Segway at Sentosa.
