I saw this on yahoo news and got interested because the article said that no one helped the girl and instead some people preferred to play voyeurs and take videos. It’s unbelievable to me the reaction of the people interviewed in this video.
Apparently it’s a good thing that Singapore has a low crime rate because on the off chance you’ll be needing help, people will find it “too bothersome” to help out. Now that’s scary.
I remember a while back there was news of a couple who walked the street naked and got arrested. If they got arrested for walking down the street naked, then shouldn’t these people who molested the woman get arrested too?
In some blogs people even claim that she was a transvestite. And that makes it not matter how? I understand how some people would think that girl deserved it because it was her choice to be there wearing a bikini. I don’ t think that’s an excuse to molest anyone. If she was hired to be there, the entity that hired her should have protected her. I know it’s a wild party but I think the organizers should draw a line between wild and just plain disgusting. This is completely cheap and tasteless. If people want to watch this kind of action then they should go to brothels, not a New Year countdown. Would you go in a nude beach and expect a free for all? Ok, well maybe. But you do need consent from the other party.

just stop it lah it turn out this women ia a transgender from thailand … hahaha so stupid .. iwonder how can singaporean be so selfish when it came to this matter of couse some people will help okey that girl dont came alone and wear bikini to party of couse some friend accompany her… and no matter how bad singaporean is they is a good one … so this pondan porposely came to singapore to look for fame and now he/she got it ..

You’re all a bunch of idiots. Obviously there are no men in Singapore, only little boys. The right thing to do is to step up and throw those guys on their heads, call the police and help the girl.

I just found this thread looking for a good place to go for 2010 countdown and I can’t believe what I read!
Can someone call themselves a man like this absolute son of a bitch below called “Random” and say that anyone deserves to be denied the right to approve or disapprove of personal invasion..you idiot! As for the cowards that watched..typical in Singapore. I watched a struggling Filipino maid at a taxi stand at Lucky Plaza with shopping all over the floor from a ripped bag, two little ones and a double buggy falling on her from the boot of the taxi she was trying to take…what did the twenty or so people do that stood in the Que.? Watched in silence. After rushing and pushing past a row of plastic people pretending to be proud Singaporeans and too full of themselves to lower themselves to help a maid I sarcastically said, “wow what gentlemen you a are”! They laughed…I was even more astounded!
It amazes me how so many Singaporeans are more happy to get in debt buying a car than being a decent soul and helping a poor girl into one!
