Manila is a disaster area! Places you never expected to get flooded are flooded. Typhoon Ondoy dropped more rains than hurricane Katrina did and really wreaked havoc to Manila.
During the downpour of Ondoy, I got scared because I haven’t seen the water level of the creek beside our house go up so high and looked like it was about to overflow. What made it even more scary was that the water was raging. I can’t imagine how anyone would survive if they fell into the water. But my fear turned to relief when I saw what happened to other areas in Manila. I’m grateful that we only had to bear with the inconvenience of not having power for more than 24 hours and didn’t have to fight for our lives like a lot of people did.
This was not the ordinary typhoon we Filipinos are used to… and we’re used to typhoons. Ondoy did leave a lot of people in dire need. So any help in the form of relief goods like food, rice, water, and clothes would be of greatly appreciated. Cash would be most welcome too. Donations may be coursed through the Philippine Red Cross or through Paypal through TXTPOwer.org.
Last but not least, let’s pray for the victims of Ondoy.
