I’m never flying Cebu Pacific during the Holidays

January 5th, 2009 · 6 Comments

Would  you believe, after getting bumped off my flight to Manila, I almost got bumped off again for my flight back to Singapore.

Cebu Pacific should have a discussion with whoever’s doing their online booking (which, from the site, says is powered by Navitaire) both my bookings to and from Manila couldn’t be found in their system.  The passenger next to me also had the same problem.  That’s probably the reason why most of their flights were overbooked.  Now Cebu Pacific had to give a free roundtrip ticket to everyone who got bumped off during the Holidays.  Not that it even compensates for the day you lost on your vacation.

They were offering me another set of free roundtrip tickets on my way back to Singapore if ever I got bumped off but no thanks.  I can just imagine how hard it is to book free tickets (i.e. lowest priority booking) on a budget airline.   There’s probably never going to be anything available.

I also realized that the front row seats of Cebu Pacific are not really the best seats in town.  Sure, you get to be the first passenger out of the plane.  But both flights that I was seated in the front row seat, I was seated with crying kids which totally tested my inner zen.    On my flight to Manila, I was seated between a sick lady who had a tube up her nose and a crying kid.  Jorey had to switch seats with the old lady’s daughter because somebody had to see to her.  I had to make sure the old lady didn’t have anything contagious because I’m pregnant.

The moral of the story: the cheap fares of Cebu Pacific isn’t worth all the hassle you will experience during the Holidays.

so hindi nahonor yung printout niyo kasi wala sa system nila? bulok nun ah.

front row seats are usually where they seat old people. ok yung seat sa fire exit row pero sa opposite side ng aisle (not near the door). masikip kasi mga seats dun so kelangan ng legroom pagmatangkad tulad ko. :P

You’re date is always late in giving a promotion, please make it in advance.

    That is frustrating.

Cebu Pacific should anticipate and practice preventive solutions to this kind of problems especially during holidays.

I agree that giving away round trip tickets does not compensate for the inconvenience. Its just a quick fix.

    Cebu Pacific does this regularly.
Had a Confirmed Reservation Ticket and they Bumped me too.
They invent all kind of excuses, among those: “You are late in my case (I arrived 1:10 minutes before the departure, I have pictures to prove it), but others were not found in their database, they could claim they haven’t received their money..

    Never mind.

The fact is that Cebu Pacific is a legalized FRAUD and is cheating on potential customers.

By doing this they can sell 3 times (or more) the same ticket and never refund you.

    NEVER FLY WITH CEBU PACIFIC.

I had a confirmed flight to Manila to get a connecting flight to Japan on the same day…originally Cebu air flight will arrived 4.05am (morning) in Manila leaving me ample time to get to my next flight wic is on 4.20pm (Afternoon)….but within a week i found that my confirmed flight was changed to a 4.35pm flight! To my horror…I wasnt informed in anyway!…if i din go online to print extra copies of the flight details for my friends…I wont know the flight was postpone till e day I fly…I tried to e-mail them several times…but no reply!
I’m now stuck wif both Cebu air tix and Jap air tix…looking at a total loss of S$2000!
