Cebu Pacific Singapore-Manila flights overbooked

December 14th, 2008 · 9 Comments

If you’re like us taking the Cebu-Pacific flight to get to Manila for the Holiday season, and you really, really want to go home, then I suggest you check in no less than 2 hours before your flight.

We were supposed to be on our way to Manila today, but we and a few other passengers got bumped of the flight because there were simply no more seats.  Apparently, it was the same case yesterday, and so those who got bumped off yesterday took seats for today’s flight, which then caused us to be bumped off and so on … you get the drift?

I checked Cebu Pacific’s site and it seems all flights are fully booked until the 18th so odds are there are going to be people getting bumped off until that time.

The the frustrating bit about it is that we were there early enough except the the counter we lined up for was oh so super slow.  When I noticed that those who were coming in later than us were able to check in already, we switched lines but unfortunately a tad too late.

Good thing, the wedding I’m supposed to attend is not until Tuesday, but still I had to cancel dinner plans with friends.

So if you really need to be in Manila the day of your flight, check in earlier!

For the record, these being budget flights doesn’t give them an excuse to sell more seats than they actually have.  The cheap fares is already compensated for in the absence of meal services and the bare bones service they provide.  But you still pay for a seat to get in that plane and you should get what you pay for.

bawal dapat yun. mabumped off sa flight mo. dapat yung ticket mo is already a guaranteed seat. they shouldnt sell seats more than they can accommodate.

How do we check the schedule for the flights on Cebu Pacific Singapore-Manila flights?

You can go to their website http://cebupacificair.com and put in the dates you are planning to go to Manila. The flight schedules will be displayed before you make payment. :)

You have to call up cebu pacific to cancel your flight. There are no show fees and other cancellation charges imposed and it takes quite a while for the refund.
