This is a continuation of my entry on the Southern Ridges.
After the Henderson waves, and some more walking we got to the Forest walk. It’s an elevated metal walkway that cuts through secondary forest of Telok Blangah Hill. There were signs that said not to feed monkeys but we didn’t see any. I’m half disappointed and half relieved. Disappointed coz I didn’t get to see monkeys, obviously but partly relieved because we used to have a monkey at home when I was a kid and the monkey didn’t really like girls and one time I got close, it pulled my hair. Since then everytime I see monkeys, I fear that it will grab my hair and pull it out. But I think bird watchers might enjoy this part of the trail coz I did see some birds there.
Below the walkway is an earth trail for those who prefer the traditional trekking.
After the Forest walk, we got to see the Alexandra Arch. It’s also pretty interesting – probably more at night when the lights are on.
Crossing the bridge, we got to the Hort Park. The Hort Park is best for people who like to garden.
This is Southeast Asia’s first one-stop centre for gardening-related recreational, educational, research and retail activities in a park setting. Some park highlights include attractive themed gardens as well as outdoor display plots showcasing designs and ideas for home gardening.
The 23-hectare HortPark connects to Kent Ridge Park via the Canopy Walk.
Unfortunately, just when we were about to enter Kent Ridge Park, signs of rain (like thunder and lightning) started to show so we had to cut short our little adventure.
We started out with Harbour Front station being our first stop and ended our walk with Queenstown station being the nearest station back. That was quite a walk!
