iRobot – the answer to my cleaning woes

May 9th, 2008 · 3 Comments

Mr. Tsiken has actually been convincing me for so long to buy the iRobot. His office buddy swears by it. But I never really saw the value of it because it was Mr. Tsiken’s job to do the vacuuming so I thought he was just trying to get out of his cleaning chores.

These babies automatically cleans your floor. They can clean hard to reach areas so you don’t need to move your furniture. They’re smart too. They can find their way back to their docking station if they need some battery recharging.

After having to mop the floor 3 times, I am now seriously considering getting one (or two – the vacuum and the mop).

It’s a luxury, yes. But if you consider the time spent on cleaning and the billable rate we both can command at the office, then the iRobot would be a good buy. It would allow us to spend more time on something more productive or just spend more quality time together.

They make good cat toys too. My cats would have a blast bullying this iRobot.

The iRobot is a good buy in countries where labor is expensive like here in Singapore or in the US. In Manila though, it’d be cheaper to hire help. They can not only clean for you but can also cook and do the laundry.

I just have one appeal: House help are people. They are not like Irona, Richie Rich’s Robot Maid. They get exhausted too. A good househelp is so hard to find these days, so if you find one, treat her right and pay her right because if you don’t, you might end up doing all the dirty work yourself.

Haha! Naisip ko nga din yun. Kaso kasi at least kung magjo-jogging ako tapos mapagod ako pwede ako tumigil. Sa pag-mop, kelangan ko tapusin kahit sobrang lawit na dila ko. :)
