This summer is scorching hot and every summer seems to get hotter than the last one. But before having all that fun in the sun, don’t forget to protect your skin. With the hole in our ozone layer getting bigger and bigger, it’s now become important to wear some SPF protection.
Here are two sunscreen products for the face that I’ve tried:
The first is Floxia New generation sun cream with liposomal extra protection.

It has Broad spectrum covered UVA-UVB-IR SPF 50+
1 mineral screens and 4 chemical screens
Titanium reflects the UVA-UVB-IR
absorb the UVB and UVA
DNA Protection
Wheat germ oil oxygenates the cells and contributes to DNA regeneration
Liposomal Protection
Vitamin E: anti oxidant
Vitamin A: skin regeneration
Before this product, I was using my dermatologist’s generic SPF 15 sunscreen gel which was fairly ok for it’s price but it dries into a film and makes your face look like it’s peeling sometimes.
Floxia Protection Solaire is tinted and as a far as I know it only comes in one tint. It’s made in France so it was really made for fair skin. It’s a shade lighter than my skin tone so I really have to blend it well otherwise I’d look like a clown. If you plan to wear make-up over your sunscreen then I wouldn’t recommend using this product because it’s very sticky and thick in consistency.
It has a lot of other benefits aside from the UV protection so if I’m going to be outdoors for a long period of time then this is probably what I’ll use. But I find it a little pricey for S$80 when I bought it from Senses Renaza.
The second one is something I would recommend more. It’s the Loreal UV Perfect XL Block Advanced fluid Protector SPF 50

UV Perfect contains an optimized UVA/UVB protection filtering system tailormade for asian phototypes. It comes in different tints so you can choose the closest match to your skin tone. I use this product more often than the Floxia brand because this one is easier to put on. It’s not sticky and it can be used as a make-up base. Though I can’t remember exactly how much I bought it for, it’s easily available in pharmacies and grocery stores and definitely costs cheaper.
