Pinoy in Singapore

After showing Ellen Degeneres her vocal prowess and making us Pinoys proud of her by singing “You’re gonna love me” from Dreamgirls soundtrack and “I will Always love you” from Whitney Houston, Charisse Pempengco is now going to impress Oprah when she guests on her show on May 8.

I got to watch her on Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino’s morning show today (sorry I haven’t been watching a lot of Philippine TV so the show’s name escapes me while I’m writing this post). But on the show she said that she got a standing ovation from another show (I’m assuming it was her guesting on Paul o’ Grady’s) and that the host thanked her because it’s the first time the audience ever gave someone a standing ovation considering they’ve had Mariah Carey on the show as guest before.

I really hope she makes it big! She’s good and I like her confidence plus she puts her own style in the songs she’s singing. I wonder what Simon Cowell thinks of her.
