The Singapore IT show 2008 is back and promises to bigger and better! It’s going to be on March 6 – 9 2008  at the Suntec City Exhibition Centre.

After having been to the IT show and similar events last year, I told myself I’m never going to buy techie stuff in shops at regular price ever again because prices in the IT show are so much better and most of the products come with lots of freebies. You will only get depressed when you buy something that you will find in the show a few months after selling for a big discount.

The one thing that I’ve found really cheap here is hard disk drives. But aside from IT and computer stuff, this is also the best time to buy your flat screen TV. We bought ours at last year’s IT show at a good price and you’d want the lowest price you can get for your TV because it gets cheaper quickly in just a few months. Our TV came with freebies like extended warranty, a home theater system, $100 GC at Hard Rock cafe, and a Guy Laroche luggage. You can also find lots of digital cameras to choose from.

What’s even better is you can pay most of the big items with your credit card on deferred payment at 0% interest.

Here’s a friendly tip:

• Before going there, research for the price of the item you intend on buying to make sure you get a good deal.  Try the price guides at www.hardwarezone.com.sg
• Shop around. Compare packages and offers to know which one is best for you.
• Don’t go crazy with your credit card! Make sure to buy only what you can afford or you’ll get stuck with a big credit card debt that comes with even bigger interest payments.
