Mrs. Tsiken loves Boon Tong Kee roasted chicken rice. This is where we bring most of our guests to eat and it’s always patok with our guests.
There are a lot of good chicken rice places around Singapore and Boon Tong Kee is surely on top of the list. What they have over the other places is that they have a branch just 1 bus stop away from our place. The ambiance is like a restaurant but it’s not as expensive as eating at No Signboard. (But then again comparing seafood to chicken is like apples to oranges.) The service is very good - one of the main reasons I keep coming back. It’s not that easy (for me at least) to find smiling servers in Singapore.
Besides the chicken rice, I also love their crab and sea cucumber soup. They serve it with a dark vinegar that you can season your soup with. Must try!

Boon tong kee is a chain and you can look for the nearest one to you here: http://www.boontongkee.com.sg/location.htm
I’d recommend the roasted spring chicken for those who, like my husband, are not fond of steamed chicken (though chicken rice is really all about the white chicken.)
Also try the crab and sea cucumber soup. It comes with a separate vinegar seasoning that you can put in the soup. I love vinegar so this is a hit to me.
The cereal prawns are also good.
