You can find a lot of remittance centres for Filipinos at the third floor of Lucky Plaza in Orchard Road.Â
Personally, I’ve tried iRemit to deposit cash in my BPI savings account. I remitted the money on a Saturday and it was reflected on my account on Sunday. It works even on weekends! How convenient!
The rates are not bad either. I expected it might be cheaper to have my money changed in the Philippines since I was going home for a week anyways. But I found out the rates were actually cheaper in Lucky Plaza. (S$1 = P30.3 in Manila black market vs S$1 = P30.42 at iRemit) The difference is negligible if you’re just changing a few hundred dollars but it could be significant when you’re changing thousands. Plus you get value-added convenience.Â

Hi!
Just wanted to post here that – we’ve recently partnered up with iRemit Canada (Vancouver) — to add to the services that we offer to the many nannies/caregivers and their friends that come to our office.
Noticing that your blog is in Singapore, I wanted to touch base with your readers – should anyone of you happen to relocate to Vancouver — we are available as another option for your remittance needs.
