The Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) is the government body responsible for administering, assessing, collecting and enforcing payment of taxes much like BIR is in the Philippines.
In the Philippines, when regular employees receive their salary, usually the tax due is already deducted. In Singapore, you get your salary in full and you are responsible for filing an income tax return as long as an income tax form/ IRAS PIN mailer/ SingPass invitation letter has been sent to you. This is regardless of your income level.Â
If you have been working in Singapore for 183 days or more, then you are considered a tax-resident of Singapore which means your income of is subject to 0%-20% tax from the year of assessment based on this table.
The information above may not apply to all scenarios.  For more details visit the IRAS website.
