May 14th, 2007 · No Comments

No need to apply for a new work pass when changing jobsAs a PEP holder, you may take on a new job in Singapore without having to worry about re-applying for a new work pass when changing jobs.

Stay up to 6 months in Singapore in between jobs

EP holders are only allowed 1 month in Singapore to look for another job if their EP is cancelled.  With the PEP, you will enjoy the privilege of staying in Singapore for up to 6 months to evaluate job opportunities.

Enjoy current or better dependent privileges

PEP holders will retain the dependent privileges tied to their original passes.  If you switch to a higher-paying job, you may apply for higher dependent privileges.

Obtain your PEP within 2 weeks

MOM promises to promptly assess your application and respond to you within 2 weeks of receipt of your application.

The Personalised Employment Pass (PEP) is a new scheme to facilitate the contributions of global talent to Singapore.Currently, the issue of an Employment Pass (EP) is tied to a specific employer. Any change of employer requires a fresh application. If an EP holder leaves the company, his EP is cancelled and he must leave Singapore unless he finds employment with a new company. In contrast, the new PEP is not tied to any employer and will be granted on the strength of an EP holder’s individual merits.  A PEP holder is able to remain in Singapore for up to six months in between jobs to evaluate new employment opportunities.
